Ahhh…was thinking if the best headline for this post and oh my. Yeah. Wanted something that irks you and yet you feel compelled to read ‘what is this in a Christian website?’
Well when I saw the advert of Facebook, I had the same reaction, what is this in Kenya? Growing up, to me Kenya has been more of a moral society-well at least most parts of Kenya. We can never write all the ills of the Kenyan society especially the exposed parts like Mtwapa, Westlands etc.
It is in Kenya where we read all sorts of crap-from men being caught raping animals, to university ladies getting paid to shoot porn with dogs (yeah), to Nairobi students sleeping with our politicians and the recent story about a young gay man who has made millions sleeping with a senator and had called a radio station to ask his ex boyfriend to stop stalking him for he was in an “upper class”.
This is yet another historic event that Kenya has the enviable position of hosting the devil.
According to the advert, this was to be an invite only event payable through an airtel line 2,000Kes for registration. The applicant will get an E-ticket for presentation at the entrance. Dress code was famed to be minimalistic as at some point apparently you will not need the clothes on.
In Roman mythology, Cupid (Latin cupido, meaning “desire”) is the god of desire, affection and erotic love. He is the son of goddess Venus and god Mars.
Cupid is the official brand ambassador of Valentine day.
During the time of the Greek empire around 323BC and the Roman Empire , statues of naked idols with wings were made to represent the physical images of their gods.
The Greeks had a god by the name of Eros (erotic) who was responsible for the distributing of the feelings or energies of erotic, lust and the immoral acts of sexual behaviors.
People who lusted after another person’s husband/wife prayed to this god Eros for erotic energies and powers, so that they may be able to entice and seduce their victims.
For journalists reading this, unfortunately no cameras nor recording equipment of any kind shall be allowed through.
In as much as you a “Christian” will condemn this evil, and justify it in your heart since you will not be going…let us look at the young men that will. This is the biggest form of male prostitution Kenya will ever see. That for our desire for money, Kenya has stooped this low that no leader has come up to condemn this.
Yeah am sure condemning this, the organizers will still find a way to let it happen-maybe in a house somewhere…but are we supposed to go silent?
Christianity is about speaking in bold “Get thee behind me Satan” Matthew 16:23
The greatest want of the world is the want of men,–men who will not be bought or sold; men who in their inmost souls are true and honest; men who do not fear to call sin by its right name; men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole; men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.–Education, p. 57.
Christ calls for unity. But He does not call for us to unify on wrong practices. The God of heaven draws a sharp contrast between pure, elevating, ennobling truth and false, misleading doctrines. He calls sin and impenitence by the right name. He does not gloss over wrongdoing with a coat of untempered mortar. I urge our brethren to unify upon a true, scriptural basis.–Manuscript 10, 1905.
Deal faithfully with wrongdoing. Warn every soul that is in danger. Leave none to deceive themselves. Call sin by its right name. Declare what God has said in regard to lying, stealing, idolatry, and every other evil. “They which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Gal. 5:21. If they persist in sin, the judgment you have declared from God’s word is pronounced upon them in heaven. In choosing to sin, they disown Christ; the church must show that she does not sanction their deeds, or she herself dishonours her Lord. She must say about sin what God says about it. She must deal with it as God directs, and her action is ratified in heaven. He who despises the authority of the church despises the authority of Christ Himself.—DA 805.
We are living in the solemn scenes of this earth’s history. If ever there was a time when things should be called by their right name, it is now. This is no time to call sin righteousness, and righteousness sin. We must lay hold by faith now. It is time for every one to be wide-awake.—Pamphlet 146.
