The University of South Alabama will allow men who identify as female to go into girls’ bathrooms and changing facilities starting this fall.
Students and faculty received an email from the schools Title IX coordinator, Krista Harrell, explaining that the school will comply with the federal Title IX transgender bathroom directive enforced by the Obama administration earlier this year.
“The University of South Alabama allows individuals to use the restroom or changing facility that is consistent with their gender identity,” Harrell wrote in the email on Aug. 5.
Although Alabama and 12 other states are suing the Obama administration over the directive, the new policy, will go into effect on Monday, Aug. 15.
The policy will apply to all university employees, students, staff, and visitors on every campus and satellite property. Full Report
