A masked gunman has shot police officers in Baton Rouge, two weeks after a video of cops pinning down and killing Alton Sterling in the same Louisiana town provoked outrage.
The man, who was wearing black, was seen firing indiscriminately at around 9am as he walked out between a shop and a car wash, a witness told WBRZ.
Local reports suggested three cops were shot.
The extent of the officers’ injuries are not known. It is also not clear if any arrests have been made.
Police are on the scene and the Airline Highway has been shut down.
The shooting comes 12 days after Sterling was shot dead outside a convenience store in Baton Rouge by two police officers.
