Reality star Caitlyn Jenner is campaigning to be Ted Cruz’s “trans ambassador” if he’s elected to the highest office in the land.
The former decathlete and staunch conservative, who hasn’t yet endorsed a GOP candidate, says she likes the notoriously anti-trans rights senator — and wants to “advise him” on transgender issues should he become commander-in-chief.
“Wouldn’t it be great, let’s say he goes on to be President,” Jenner said of the crusading Texas Republican in a new profile for The Advocate. “And I have all my girls on a trans issues board to advise him on making decisions when it comes to trans issues. Isn’t that a good idea?”
Jenner confirmed that she was, indeed, describing herself as “trans ambassador to the President of the United States.”
“So we can say, ‘Ted, love what you’re doing but here’s what’s going on,’” she explained.
Cruz was “very nice” when she met him prior to her transition from Bruce to Caitlyn, she added.
“I like Ted Cruz,” she said, hailing him as “very conservative, and a great constitutionalist, and a very articulate man.”
“I haven’t endorsed him or anything like that. But I also think, he’s an evangelical Christian, and probably one of the worst ones when it comes to trans issues.”
