Surprise, surprise! In a recent poll, Pope Francis’ popularity exceeds even that of world leaders. BBC News carried the story under the headline “Pope more popular than world leaders-poll.”
The findings of the poll reveal just how effective the Pope has been at selling his persona along with his agenda.
“The poll by WIN/Gallup International indicates that Roman Catholics and Jews have the most favorable opinion of the Pope. More than half of the world’s protestants and even the majority of atheists and agnostics view him favourably…WIN/Gallup said that the Pope heads the rankings when compared to the global popularity of political world leaders…WIN/Gallup International President Jean-Marc Leger said: ‘Pope Francis is a leader who transcends his own religion. Our study shows that an ample majority of citizens of the world, of different religious affiliations and across regions, have a favorable image of the Pope.’”
For diligent students of Bible Prophecy, the poll results are not surprising, but are fulfillments of Revelation 13:3 and 4 and an indication of just how close we are to the reemergence of the Papacy and the enforcement of the Mark of the Beast
(Revelation 13:12,14,15). “And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?”
The last two phrases of verse four points to a time that the Papacy will become so powerful that no one would dare oppose the Pope and his agenda, especially publicly. Individuals understand that to go against Pope Francis is a threat to their careers and livelihood, their statuses, their credibility, and even their very lives. Politicians and world leaders certainly understand this, presidential candidates understand this, religious leaders and their congregants understand this and consequently they have the mentality of “if you can’t beat them, join them;” and regardless of their personal convictions, they publicly give their allegiance to the Papacy and its policies and denounce objectors of the same. This time is no longer future, it is here. Just ask Republican frontrunner, Donald Trump, who backed down after a heated exchange with Pope Francis. CNN reports “Nobody wants to tangle with the Pope—not even Donald Trump…‘I don’t like fighting with the Pope…I like his personality; I like what he represents’” Trump said after calling the Pope a “wonderful guy.” Read more
