Every time you fall into temptations, you need to pray ten times harder

If there isn’t a battle in your life, then you must start questioning your Christianity for a Christian’s life is one of battles. And if you have never thought of how busy the devil is, you need to read this article more keenly.

Christ’s life on earth was one full of battles. Right from when He was set to start about His earthly ministry, the Devil was all upon Him. And you would think that Christ was saved from fleshly temptations but how wrong are you!

Christ was faced with the same pangs of hunger, people disappointing Him, probably working at his father’s workshop, several clients had delayed payments, or wouldn’t pay, or however Christ would be nice to them, just like Judas, they probably had just one thing not to like about the furniture. Yet somehow, someway, Christ had just the right answer.

Christ knew the people He was interacting with. He saw deeper than the gloom and sadness. The stress and bad luck. When the woman accused of adultery looked up that sunny morning at the Temple expecting to see more disgust, more hatred, more judgement….all she saw was love. Because in Christ, she saw someone who knew everything, and someone who offered a solution.

Joh_8:11 And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

When it comes to humans, there is that slight feeling of victory that lets your guard down. Just when you thought you won.

I am not sure whatever sin you are fighting, and you keep going at it. And every time you kneel and pray, you feel it will not happen again. And you get up smiling. And it cold be an hour, a day, a week, a year, yet you end up finding yourself on your knees praying over the very same thing? There is something you need to understand.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Christian journey is not about perfecting your life for the world to see. Christian life is about perfecting your life for Christ. And the only way you can come to Christ clean is when not a single demon is with you.

See, sin is not ‘dirt’ that you wash off. Every sin is a demon.

Remember when Christ asked His disciples whom they thought He was?

Mat 16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
Mat 16:14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
Mat 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Mat 16:20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
Mat 16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
Mat 16:22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
Mat 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

The same Peter that earlier had the revelation of God about the true identity of Christ is now being reprimanded? But notice whom Christ addresses!

MAT 16:23 BUT HE TURNED, AND SAID UNTO PETER, GET THEE BEHIND ME, SATAN:

See, in the second instance, Christ turns to face Peter but addresses SATAN! Christ is God. Every sin is a demon attached to you. A demon sent your way. It might come through another person, but to that other person, you too are equally a demon sent against them.

So while you think it ‘just happened’ i’ll pray over it, these are demons who are now closely tied and attached to you playing some sort of game. Every time you promise yourself never again, they probably bet just how long ‘until’.

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
Job 1:7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

1Pe_5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

There are billions of Angels, a third of them fell down on earth.

Rev_12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Those are billions of mighty powerful angels who turned to become an enemy. These are creatures that were created way before you and I and creatures that will exist way after you and I until the coming of Christ (that is unless we are lucky to welcome Christ while alive!)

Now consider this. Whatever sin you are fighting, millions of people have fought the same sin.

Ecc_1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

These demons have had 6000+ years of experience from millions of ‘test subjects’ yet they all know there is ‘one constant’ that they cannot Change. Christ.

What would you do?

The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18

‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:3

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:6

Every time you earnestly pray over one sin to overcome, 77 more powerful demons circle over you with thousands of more ideas for temptations. So, how many more times must you pray?

Christ, after the last supper went to pray. Three times He would go up to pray and come back to find His very close disciples a sleep. These were the three whom Christ chose personally knowing too well He would be arrested in their presence.

So Christ had confidence in them, yet three times He would find them sleeping.

And Christ kept praying, that His sweat appeared like blood. How Earnest and for how long must He have been praying for strength to go through the ordeal that was ahead of Him! Imagine how earnest the Son of God cried to His Father to take away that cup! How horrified He must have been knowing that He would be facing the full wrath of the Devil but powerless as a human!

Christ begged for strength from God. That is just how He was able to go through. And at that moment, Imagine how sad God was knowing His own Son had to go through that humiliation. The Majesty of Heaven, the Only Son of God humiliated up on a tree!

And the devil did his mighty best. The Bible simply gives you the points, fill the gaps. Imagine the horror of the night Christ was arrested. Look at your current police and realize they did not invent police brutality, they actually toned it down.

The devil set upon himself to ensure Christ gives up before death. If Christ could just say “ENOUGH, I CAN”T TAKE IT ANYMORE” that would have been the end of it all. The end for us anyway. You and I would never have existed, because at that moment, the full wrath of God would have descended on the Devil and humanity. Yet Christ took it all, because Christ still believes we can win. He trusts we can win.

Now, do not think that the Devil has some sort of hierarchy. Do not think that a ‘different’ agent of the Devil will be sent to you! The same Devil that went to Job also went to Christ and He also went at the Disciples in his full wrath and he will come at you in the same wrath.

Do not think because Christ is powerful, a ‘powerful’ devil agent was sent to him. How much more must you pray? How much are you praying?

Do you think you are praying enough? You might think you keep all the commandments, but sin is not a piece of dirt, sin is the devil. Every lie you tell is a demon inside of you. And every time you curse at lying and yet you tell another lie, this demon will pull 77 more buddies to just ensure you are in shape.

From then, your prayers become simple a ritual. Lie, curse pray. Lie curse pray. How much more must you pray?
