God’s standard-The Ten Commandments

2 min

As you look around and see the various religious denominations presenting various doctrinal views one thing comes quite apparent, we’ve lost the “standard” which brings us together. My mother had 3 sons, and each of us can “claim” to love her but to her, she will know we do because of the “standard” she has set in how to respect and love her. God is no different. Many of us “claim” to love God but departing from His “Standard” indicates if we really do or not.

God stated, too, we cannot love Him without loving our fellow man and provided a simple list of 6 points. Coincidentally, He’s done the same for Himself. He’s given us 4 points to do, for Him, which demonstrates our love toward Him. So, let’s be quite clear here, if I “steal” from you, do I love you? If I want to take your stuff, do I love you? If I desire to worship something above Him, do I love Him? Of course not. Any of these points He’s established and I fail to keep these points is a sure indicator I really don’t love Him, no matter what I say, think or do.

Yet, there are some, sadly, who are influenced by Satan himself, who went against the “Standard” and desired to be like God. He lost that battle, so now he’s come among us to try and continue the war. He’s lied about the “Standard” and confused so many they’re worshiping him although they believe they’re worshiping God! He’s gotten what he wanted: worship.

God is clear and stated in 92 different places in the Bible, “Keep My Commandments”. John 14:15 establishes the “Standard”: If you love Me, keep My Commandments.” Yet, the devil again would attempt to confuse many regarding what this means. They’ve come up with phrases like, “New Covenant”, “New Commandments”, everything supposedly “New” when there is nothing, “new under the sun.”

God’s Standard are found in the “Ten Commandments”. Is there any commandment among the ten which is harmful? Which one you do not like? Which is impossible to follow? If there is, I’d be interested in hearing which one is a problem for you. However, I “love” Him and I demonstrate this love toward Him because I keep each and every one of those Ten Commandments, the “standard” for my life.

And, oh, don’t let anyone tell you it is impossible to keep all Ten Commandments because your Bible says that’s a lie. Look at Revelation 12:17: “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Rev 12:17 (KJV) Sooooo, there ARE a group of people who does “keep the commandments of God”!

Are you one of them? If not, become one. It’s the “STANDARD” of loving God and loving your fellow man. It is also the standard if you fail, you will be lost eternally and there are no second chances.
