Classic 105 morning show has had an unprecedented advantage over the other radio shows in the morning country wide. It’s not for its music cos let’s face it, the songs are boring. Every other day is a repetition of a song till you can with 80% accuracy predict the 10 songs Maina Kageni will play in the morning.
It’s not for the news. Classic has the shortest version of news too compared to other stations that will try to keep one updated on the current events across the country. Maina Kageni has built his celebrity career parading stories and scores of examples of what no one would term as unhappy marriages but simply-immorality. The hosts will try and find the worst stories in marriages, from violence, promiscuity, revenge-you name them-and filter through the calls to find the most tragic of stories to air out of which will form the next day’s topic.
Three stories I heard on the show that I will share before penning what ails us.
A lady called to reveal what to her is a victory of sorts. Apparently she stays in Mombasa married in a rich family. According to her, she has sex with her father in-law, her brother in-law and her husband and the three men know nothing. During the call, she revealed her father in-law had bought her a car for a gift, her brother in-law showers her with financial gifts and according to the husband, she is the perfect wife that interacts well with the family. Well it might just be too ‘well’.
This lady was taken by her would be husband to be introduced to the sister. She and would be sister in-law ‘fell’ in love. They now-I think 7years into the marriage have a covert affair. She weekly has sex-or whatever lesbians call it-with the sister in-law once the husband is off to work. The husband sees a perfect wife that interacts well with his sister.
This lady called to confess that during the weekend, she and 7 other ladies-all of which are married except one retreated to the cost for a weekend off. They flew a man from Nairobi who during the entire night, all eight went nude and did whatever the devil they wished to do with the man sexually. The following day, with his pay and fare they bid him bye. Sunday evening the ladies are back with their husbands to play wife.
Now for any man to show case these atrocities on public radio, laugh about them and ‘ask’ for a whisky-and move on with his life must be a new kind of sickness. But that the whole country finds it ok for him to do his show and receive unrivalled audience make the whole country sick.
Marriage is one of the gifts that God bestowed on humanity right in Eden, even before the curses. Genesis 2:24: Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
That the devil will seek to attack this very institution is no joke and the fact that he has successfully attacked the institution of marriage should prove how dangerous a time we live in.
Marriage should be the foundation of everyone in the society. Christ Himself could have found thousand and one ways to reveal Himself to the world but He chose the very same foundation. Born of a betrothed woman, a virgin.
This in all ways reflects God’s purpose to humanity. That all shall enter marriage in their purity and God shall gift them with kids to bring into the world. But that is not to be. Our sexual lives have been so corrupted that we now think it cool to have sex outside of marriage. The very forms of sex encountered and tolerate are not only despicable but outwardly wrong. Nairobi currently entertains ‘swing couple’ where married couples would spend the night exchanging their partners with other couples for sexual intimacy-a topic that was once aired on radio!
Countries are coming up with laws to allow gay marriages and soon churches will follow suit-out of their own will or compulsion from courts and laws to marry ‘christians’ who are gay. The sickening part is that while we sleep pondering on this, movements are being formed to trash marriage and purport to support ‘gay rights’ on equality in terms of marriages, inheritance etc. Almost every country-Kenya included-now has a ‘gay rights movement’ that meets every so often-to ‘discuss’ the progress they have made on legalizing their unions in their respective countries. It was during one of these events that ‘two top media’ personalities were feted for their ‘contribution’ to the gay rights. Rumors had it that one was Maina Kageni-if it were-then could his contribution be in ‘trashing marriages’?
Kenya is a country that has enjoyed unperturbed freedom of worship and a common denominator in all religions is that gay should not be condoned. Religion has and never will be a democratic institution. Millions can gang up and pass legislations to condone this abomination but to God it remains nothing but an abomination. Since time immemorial, the biblical position on gay has stood solid as a rock a position that God says “ The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” Isaiah 40:8
Leviticus 18:22: Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Leviticus 20:13: If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
It is on these very foundations of laws that Christ was born in and died,. The very laws he says Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matthew 5:18
That a man shall make a career pointing out all the wrong reasons and the bad examples of marriages everyday of his life stands t prove one point. I am passionate about my work as it brings a sense of doing something good to society. So are all other men and women out there who proudly wake up to go to work. If what you do brings out a sense of accomplishment then it makes sense for you to be proud of your work.
Maina Kageni has said more often than not how he loves his job. But in all essence his job has shown nothing bad the bad light of marriage. His job is to find callers desperate to cheat on their marriages, callers who have some ‘kinky’ secrets eager to share on radio to thousands of Kenyans. But what does he stand to gain?
Apparently Maina has ‘come out’ to say he is gay according to some popular bloggers. Now the reasoning becomes simple. If he is gay-he stands out to trash the ‘man to woman’ marriage which in effect will mean he is promoting the ‘man to man or woman to woman’ marriage of which he hopes to one day do.
But what does the bible say of a person that deliberately leads others to sin? Luke 17:2: It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
I pity for the thousands who listen to the show every morning laughing at sin and calling to boast of their sinful lifestyles. Maina Kageni has provided an easy access for people to sin and be proud of it.
