If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed

Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you could say unto this sycamine tree, Be plucked up by the root, and be planted in the sea; and it would obey you.

Ok seriously was Jesus joking? A human being to tell a tree to move? And it moves? Come on!! But there you have it.One verse that forms probably the basis of belief in Christ. Having not known Christ yet we theoretically confess of being ready to die for him. It is quite ironical that in such a big thing like hoping for Christ we would bet our ‘faith’ in it, but commanding the life of faith in us seems so hard.

Our lives are vested on the fear of the devil ‘principalities and powers and rulers of darkness’ that we seem to forget the power given to us through Christ in prayer and faith.

“The chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5. Behold Him in the wilderness, in Gethsemane, upon the cross! The spotless Son of God took upon Himself the burden of sin. Our worries over sin should cease. Christ told the devil ‘it is finished!!!’

How hard is it for us to claim that promise? That our pains are done and dealt with. Our sorrows are no more. That even when we are ‘walking in the shadow of death…we shall fear no evil for the Lord has provided a solution for our redemption. It was nto a loan. It was not an advance payment. It was the full payment the full remission of our sins and its all gone now.

We are to walk with renewed faith believing that we serve a God who does. A God who should we ask for bread….we do not just get bread….we get ENOUGH bread!!

In Jesus name.
