Over 100 United Methodist clergy came out as homosexual or transgender this week in a letter publicly addressed to the denomination in an effort to draw attention to the issue ahead of the General Conference and to seek acceptance despite policies that prohibit practicing homosexuals from serving in the ministry.
While their letter was filled with the same evil selfish justification of sin, what caught my attention were the words of one of them.
“We submit to Jesus as Lord,” Lemperis stated. “If He is truly Lord, then no area of our lives can be off-limits to Him. Jesus spoke strongly about the centrality of self-denial in following Him, which often means dramatic personal sacrifices, including not acting on powerful desires for things outside of God’s best for us. … Jesus and new life in Him are more than worth it.”
That sounds eerily familiar to
Mat 4:3 If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
Mat_4:6 If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
It is like insinuating that, if Christ is really God, then there really should not be any limits to what He can do. Forget the laws, forget the commandments, if Christ is God, then we might as well live in debauchery.
Mat 27:40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
The devil has gotten so courageous that he no longer has to hide. The United States has decreed that all schools should allow transgender students to use bathrooms that match their gender preference. The other day, a publicist for Bruce Jenner said Jenner might be regretting his transition and wants to be a man again. So if I feel am a girl today, the school will be sued for forcing me to use a boy’s bathroom, though I was a boy yesterday. Can you see how much of confusion and immorality this is?
But the clergy of the Methodist Church insist if Christ indeed is God, then He should be ok with that. After all, He died to make sin more legal? No?
Lev_22:31 Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the LORD.
Joh_15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one.
The voice of Christ and the Voice of the Father are one. Christ will not tell you to steal when the Father says you should not steal. Christ kept the commandments whilst on earth and made it the only condition for abiding in His love, keeping the commandments.
So if anyone of us were to not keep the commandments, clearly they have forsaken Christ.
Joh 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
This quite simply means, if we would not follow Christ, if we would not keep the commandments, then we are not of His sheep. But the methodists would have you forget all that and command Christ to accept their choice of lifestyle?
1Ki_18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
