Joel Osteen & Gay Marriages: “It’s not part of my core message”

2 min

Joel Osteen is by no doubt one of the biggest televangelist in America whose ministry has crossed seas and oceans to reach to millions. With 6million followers on Facebook and more than 2 million on Twitter, one might say the man is unstoppable.

But again people have been blinded to passionately follow self-confessed men of God, prophets and preachers whose testimony and preaching is completely the opposite of the word of God. It is highly doubtful that God will send men and women into the world to preach a gospel contrary to that which was sent.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:8

The word of God is as simple as that. If any man preaches something contrary to what is written that man be accused. And John admonishes us to

believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1John 4:1

Joel Osteen when asked his opinion about gay marriages, he says it is not ‘his core message’ to the world. He says he wants to ‘stay in his line’ of what he ‘feels’ called to do.

Lets relook at that statement. Are we supposed to preach what we feel we want to preach? Where do we see feel?

Ge:3:6: And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Those are the fruits of using our ‘hearts and feelings to make decisions’.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 1:7

But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Matthew 15:9

All these can be said about the ministry of Joel Osteen. He wants to ‘keep’ his followers and create a ‘level’ ground for others who are gay to ‘feel’ comfortable living in their sin. Do not get me wrong…

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10

But Christ did not come to call us ‘with our sins’ for

Proverbs 28:13 – He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall have mercy.

It therefore is totally suspect for an alleged man of God to ‘choose’ what to preach and allow people to ‘live’ in sin instead of admonishing them like the Apostles

Ac:2:38: Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Lets face it, there is no second ground for homosexuality in the Christian community.

Leviticus 18:22
“Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.

Ephesians 5:3
Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. (NLT)

Revelation 2:20
But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols. (ESV)

1 Corinthians 6:9–11
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (ESV)

Maybe he has a different bible. Listen to him
