Earlier today, the Machakos County Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua Ordered all County officials to a 6 day work schedule. In a long post, he related the order to his government’s policy in delivering development projects to the people of residing in Machakos County.
I have today instructed that all senior Machakos Government officials starting with myself, ministers, chief officers, directors and their deputies and heads of department, should from next week work six days a week so as to effectively supervise and implement development projects.
This “Turbo Maendeleo Chap Chap” method will run up to end of December, 2016 where it will be reviewed and tweaked. All senior officers should spend a minimum of three days on the field supervising projects and listening to the needs of Wananchi. Ministers are to meet senior staff for a briefing meeting a minimum of once a week. Heads of departments will also hold meetings with junior staff a minimum of once a week to communicate the department’s agenda. Governor Mutua
However, in his absolute ignorance of scripture, the Governor has opened a pandora box whose results are far too catastrophic to phathom. It is only a matter of time for those watching the signs of the end for such orders to become common.
Even for gay marriages, it started with such idiotic political leaders who sort to win public favor and trampled on the words of God.
The Sabbath tradition was one that was started by God right after creation. On the 6th, God saw that all He had done was good and rested on the 7th day.
Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
So God specifically chose the Seventh Day as a memorial of creation. To prove that this was not open for negotiation, God also made the Sabbath a commandment and seal of His authority over the world.
Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Reading on in the Bible, the book of Daniel, we are told of a time and Kingdom that shall seek to destroy the people of God and change the commandments of God.
Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws:
This is what the papal power claims to have done respecting the fourth commandment. Catholics plainly acknowledge that there is no scriptural authority for the change they have made, but that it rests wholly upon the authority of the church; and they claim it as a token, or mark, of the authority of that church; the “very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday” being set forth as proof of its power in this respect. WCS 19.2 Ellen White
Why is this Governor’s actions so bad? Because this is what happened in the Dark ages. While pretending to separate Church and State, State officials were used by the church to impose laws that made it harder for people to keep the Sabbath.
The first day of the week would be relaxed and yet public functions and work forced on the Sabbath. This way they changed the Sabbath to Sunday.
Still so, Kenya as many countries had never made work on Saturday mandatory. This is clearly a first step that many other Governors and Heads of State and Governments will enact soon.
This Governor is clearly ignorant on the Relevance of the Sabbath considering that in Kenya, the Education Cabinet Secretary recently ordered schools to allow students attend the Sabbath and a High Court Judge in an Interview stated that even in a presidential petition, he won’t sit on Sabbath.
We cannot confirm how many County officials will now be forced to work on Sabbath but hope that Kenya officials will see this for what it is and call on the Governor to rescind. The Governor has crossed the line that distinguishes church and state.
