The Man of Sin Counterfeits the Work of Christ, Pope Francis visits former prostitutes

The Word of God declares that when it suits the enemy’s purpose, he will through his agencies manifest so great a power under a pretence of Christianity that, “if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” [Matt. 24:24].–Ms 125, 1901.

2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Some people do not realize how powerful Satan was and the fact that Satan cannot do the things that Christ did ON earth must be wrecking havoc in his heart.

Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

If you remember the design of the Ark of the Covenat, in the original plan of God, Lucifer was one of the Angels whose wings were about the Mercy Seat of God.

Exo 25:8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.
Exo 25:9 According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.

Exo 25:18 And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.
Exo 25:19 And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.

Yes, Lucifer was one of the Two Powerful Angels.

Eze 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
Eze 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Next to Christ was Lucifer and this was a problem to Him. He wanted the Honor, respect, worship and adoration that was due to Christ, due to God.

So when Christ met a prostitute by the well, or when Christ was brought to a prostitute at the Temple, when He gave them redemption is was true.

But the counterfeit of Christ is taking a fake redemption to former prostitutes.

Pope Francis surprised 20 former prostitutes by popping in for a visit at their safe house in Rome.

The women had been rescued from their pimps and are being given shelter and protection at an apartment run by a Catholic charity in Italy’s capital.

The pontiff chatted to the women, some trafficked from Africa and elsewhere in Europe, for more than an hour.

The 79-year-old cleric has repeatedly described human trafficking as a “crime against humanity” BBC

But Romanism as a system is no more in harmony with the gospel of Christ now than at any former period in her history. The Protestant churches are in great darkness, or they would discern the signs of the times. The Roman Church is far-reaching in her plans and modes of operation. She is employing every device to extend her influence and increase her power in preparation for a fierce and determined conflict to regain control of the world, to re-establish persecution, and to undo all that Protestantism has done. Catholicism is gaining ground upon every side. See the increasing number of her churches and chapels in Protestant countries. Look at the popularity of her colleges and seminaries in America, so widely patronized by Protestants. Look at the growth of ritualism in England and the frequent defections to the ranks of the Catholics. These things should awaken the anxiety of all who prize the pure principles of the gospel. The Great Controversy page 566, Ellen White.

This outward splendor, pomp, and ceremony, that only mocks the longings of the sin-sick soul, is an evidence of inward corruption. The religion of Christ needs not such attractions to recommend it. In the light shining from the cross, true Christianity appears so pure and lovely that no  external decorations can enhance its true worth. It is the beauty of holiness, a meek and quiet spirit, which is of value with God. The Great Controversy page 567, Ellen White.

The worship of images and relics, the invocation of saints, and the exaltation of the pope are devices of Satan to attract the minds of the people from God and from His Son. To accomplish their ruin, he endeavors to turn their attention from Him through whom alone they can find salvation. He will direct them to any object that can be substituted for the One who has said: “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28. The Great Controversy page 569, Ellen White.

The Roman Church now presents a fair front to the world, covering with apologies her record of horrible cruelties. She has clothed herself in Christlike garments; but she is unchanged. Every principle of the papacy that existed in past ages exists today. The doctrines devised in the darkest ages are still held. Let none deceive themselves. The papacy that Protestants are now so ready to honor is the same that ruled the world in the days of the Reformation, when men of God stood up, at the peril of their lives, to expose her iniquity. She possesses the same pride and arrogant assumption that lorded it over kings and princes, and claimed the prerogatives of God. Her spirit is no less cruel and despotic now than when she crushed out human liberty and slew the saints of the Most High.  The Great Controversy page 571, Ellen White.

The Pope can no more offer these women salvation than can he pray to God. He has led the world from the worship of the true God to the veneration of Mary who is the rebrand of the pagan Egyptian God ISIS, or Ishtar.
