PROPHECY Can be a problem for many. So often the very word can be taken out of context, misrepresented, misunderstood, but it is for certain, it cannot be stopped and will be one of the identifying characteristics of the true church in these last days.
“And the dragon (Satan) was wroth (angry) with the woman (church), and went to make war with the remnant of her seed (Adventists), which keep the (10) commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17 (KJV)
Testimony of Jesus Christ. How is this defined? We need to examine Revelation 19:10: “10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Clearly, this indicates the Remnant Church of God, in these last days would have been given the “Spirit of Prophecy”. For what purpose? To explain that which has already been given. To whom? To those who don’t understand.
The two prophetic books of the Bible, Daniel and Revelation would be better understood later then the time in which they were written. Daniel was told in Daniel 12:4 “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” What would this time be, the “time of the end”? Visit verse 7: “And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. Daniel 12:7 (KJV)
What about this: time, times and an half? 14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Revelation 12:14 (KJV) Meaning 1,260 days, years when speaking in terms of prophecy, and this time period covered from 538 AD until 1798. But, none of this will have any importance nor meaning if one doesn’t take the time to see God is sending a message and uses “prophecy” to get it across. And, He knew this would be the case for many of His people, so what did He do, He tied into it a blessing: “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Revelation 1:3 (KJV)
So, apparently, “prophecy” has it’s place for it is the “Gospel of Christ” which has been given, by Christ, to His Church for these last days.
Do you understand prophecy? Are the books of Daniel and Revelation a part of your life? Do you hear these books being preached from your church’s pulpit? Do you understand what you’re reading when you read these books? If you do not, it is evident you’re not in the “Remnant Church” of God, for you would.
Understanding prophecy has a blessing. It’s like turning on the news and hearing the weather report, without which, you could be facing a terrible storm. There is a “storm” approaching, one of tremendous impact on lives, and without the report, the “prophetic word”, you will be swept away.
