(Prophesy Again) At the Paris Climate Conference (COP21) held in December of 2015, 195 countries adopted the unprecedented global, legally binding climate agreement. This agreement outlines a plan of action intended to reduce and eliminate climate change by limiting global warming. The deal was ratified however, in October of 2016.
“The European Parliament has backed the ratification of the Paris climate deal, paving the way for the world’s first global agreement…The Paris deal has raced through the UN ratification process in double-quick time. It took eight years to get the previous Kyoto Protocol agreed ‒ and that was nowhere near as comprehensive.”1
It is not by chance that this climate change agreement has reached this point in “double-quick” time, the Bible is clear that Satan knows that he has but a short time and thus is working at lightening speed to accomplish his purposes (Revelation 12:12). Furthermore it has been foretold that “the agencies of evil are combining their forces, and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones.”2
Indeed the agencies of evil have consolidated and combined forces, under Pope Francis, presently the most vocal proponent for combating climate, to have his agenda accomplished. It should not be forgotten that before the 2015 Paris agreement was reached, many held the sentiments as expressed in this Time Magazine headline, “World leaders must listen to Pope Francis on climate change,”3 and if the climate talks stalled, the first recommendation was the intervention of Pope Francis.4 If that is not telling enough, consider that once the agreement was reached and signed by 195 nations, the Jesuits, of whom Pope Francis is a member, rejoiced stating “we have a deal” in which they proudly admit the role they played to influence the agreement.5
Pope Francis, was well- pleased and praised the climate deal that was reached in 2015,6 and one can only imagine how overjoyed he must be now that it has been ratified and set to be implemented, and that in such a short period of time. It was Pope Francis who wrote an encyclical, the highest and most important Papal document, addressing the issue of climate change in which he sets forth his solution—mandatory, government-enforced Sunday observance.7
Much like the man whom he deeply admires, current United States President Barack Obama is also much delighted at the ratification of the agreement and called it “a turning point” in the fight against global warming.8 Mr. Obama is correct when he says that this deal is a turning point; indeed it is and will be highly instrumental in bringing about the final crisis, the Mark of the Beast Crisis, and with the nations fully committed, it will not be a long or difficult process.
“There are periods which are turning points in the history of nations and of the church. In the providence of God, when these different crises arrive, the light for that time is given. If it is received, there is spiritual progress; if it is rejected, spiritual declension and shipwreck follow. The Lord in His word has opened up the aggressive work of the gospel as it has been carried on in the past, and will be in the future, even to the closing conflict, when Satanic agencies will make their last wonderful movement. From that word we understand that the forces are now at work that will usher in the last great conflict between good and evil–between Satan, the prince of darkness, and Christ, the Prince of life. But the coming triumph for the men who love and fear God is as sure as that His throne is established in the heavens.”9
Just as Satan and his chief agencies of evil are moving rapidly, the people of God are to move rapidly in the work or character perfection and that of evangelism. “Said the angel, “‘Deny self; ye must step fast.’ Some of us have had time to get the truth and to advance step by step, and every step we have taken has given us strength to take the next. But now time is almost finished, and what we have been years learning, they will have to learn in a few months. They will also have much to unlearn and much to learn again. Those who would not receive the mark of the beast and his image when the decree goes forth, must have decision now to say, Nay, we will not regard the institution of the beast.”10 “Rapid movements at the critical moment often disarm the enemy, and he is disappointed and vanquished, for he had expected time to lay plans and work by artifice.”11
