Am sure it is not the first time for you to see such photos where a pastor posts photos of a nice car, or a mansionette and then the tempting words,
“Very soon, you will own a house with all the documents in your name in the name of Jesus.Please if you don’t want a house don’t type amen.This prayer is for those that wants a house and have faith in God.
If you believe, type AMEN and Share.”
And thousands of gullible Christians who take everything as a God send blessing will flood the comments sections with Amens sharing and still end up with no house, no money no riches. The question is why?
Jesus himself had the potential to live in a mansion but when asked where he stays he said “the son of man hath not where to lay his head” Luke 9:58
When asked of a future here on earth he said ” I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.” Matthew 10:34
And when he was about to leave the world he said “I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:3
In other words, this world in it’s current form and state was not something that Christ was interested in building a home. Not with the devil fighting for occupation as well. That is why Revelation is full of promises, that after going through the tribulations of this world, Christ has prepared for us a home in heaven and after the 1000 yrs an eternity on earth, cleansed of sin, sorrow, death, pain and all.
But again….let us go back to the bible and find the one character that makes conditional promises;
M’t:4:3: And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
M’t:4:6: And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
M’t:4:9: And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
Do you see that? The Promises come with an immediate condition. Do this If you are that or if you want that. God’s promises are unconditional.
It is a pity that many people fail to see such a distinction between God and the Devil. Nowhere in the gospel does God promise you earthly riches if you submit to Him. Actually Christ warns us to turn away from earthly riches, and the apostles state that money is the roof of all problems.
So it does seem quite contradictory that pastors will today offer you riches in the name of God if you did something. (and petty as it may seem to simply comment and share the post), this is nothing short of showing submission.
If Christ had submitted to the devil, the story of our salvation would have been very different. And so today think about it, the next time you see that post and that tempting house……do not submit.
