Nothing makes Satan more fearful than having his tactics unmasked and exposed before the world; he therefore cloaks his devices in pleasing garb so that individuals will not be cognizant of them. So it is with Satan’s agents; and the primary entity that Satan is working through in these last days is the Papacy, the Roman Catholic Church, the very entity depicted in scripture as the anti-Christ.
Another characterization of this mammoth institution of blasphemy and abominations is the “man of sin.” Therefore, when the head of the church, Pope Francis, continually denounces the actions of others as sins, he is employing a diversion method so that the sins of the church that he represents remain covered.
Most recently he criticized what he calls fake and sensationalized news as being a “grave sin,” urging journalists not to dredge up past scandals. “The doctrine that God has committed to the church the right to control the conscience, and to define and punish heresy, is one of the most deeply rooted of papal errors.” (White, Ellen. The Great Controversy (1911), page 292)
As reported by Fox News, “Pope Francis had a message this weekend for journalists spreading so-called ‘fake news’: you’re committing a ‘very serious sin.’ Speaking to the Catholic media on Saturday, the pope criticized journalists who sensationalize the news and bring up old scandals in their reporting, calling their actions a ‘grave sin that hurts the heart of the journalist and hurts others.’
The pope said he believes that journalists perform a ‘fundamental’ mission and reminded them to provide correct, complete and precise information and to avoid one-sided reporting. ‘There is an urgent need for news communicated with serenity, precision, and completeness, with a calm language, so as to favor a fruitful reflection; carefully weighted and clear words, which reject the inflation of allusive, strident and ambiguous speech. It is important that, methodically and with patience, criteria of judgment and information be offered so that the public is able to understand and discern, and is not stunned and disoriented,’ Francis said.”
This should not be surprising considering how Pope Francis feels about freedom of speech and personal conscience.
A Crux News headline reads, “After Charlie Hebdo, pope says free speech has its limits;” and another headline from Vatican Radio, “Pope Francis: religion should not be confined to ‘personal conscience.’”
Furthermore, it is no secret that the Roman Catholic Church has always been starkly opposed to the United States constitution and all that it stands for and has been extremely vocal about it. [Oops…I almost forgot…past “scandals” are not to be brought up.] Nevertheless, in order to understand the present machinations of Popery and how she will continue to operate in these last days we must have a thorough understanding of her past, because, as she herself boasts, she cannot change. “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun” Ecclesiastes 1:9. “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices” 2 Corinthians 2:11.
Pope Francis has been working assiduously to change the image and perception of the Papacy so that individuals do not view Roman Catholicism as the same despotic, persecuting power that she was in times past so that she can further her agenda without opposition.
And for this very reason, Pope Francis recently urged Protestants to not only forgive sins of the past committed by Roman Catholics but also to purify their memories of those sins and retell or revise the history.
“The pope told the participants that his first reaction to hearing about ‘this praiseworthy initiative’ was one of gratitude to God and ‘a certain surprise, since not long ago a meeting like this would have been unthinkable…’ While the past cannot be changed, he said, 50 years of dialogue means there can be ‘a purification of memory,’ which is ‘to tell that history differently,’ in a way that is ‘free of any lingering trace of the resentment over past injuries that has distorted our view of one another.’”
We can see exactly what Pope Francis means when he urges journalists not to bring up her past, she wants centuries of her shameful history to be completely forgotten or purged, and if that cannot be done, revised. And this is the very reason that Pope Francis has been frequently meeting with journalists and the CEO’s of the major social media companies– to manage both the digital and literal presses and control the content which is disseminated, and all this under the guise of promoting peace or anti-bullying.
What does this mean for those faithfully proclaiming the Three Angels’ Messages of Revelation 14:6-12, which involves the exposing the past, present, and future abominations, atrocities, and blasphemies of Babylon, Roman Catholicism?
It means that those “journalists” or present truth preachers, teachers, writers and disseminators will soon be labeled as “hate preachers” and will be charged with radicalizing the masses. The very cry of “fake news” frequently heard by Donald Trump is the same complaint that Pope Francis is making.
When these two powers unite, and the United States of America completely forms an image to Roman Catholicism, which essentially means church controlling the state, both civil and religious liberties will be completely eradicated and no one dare speak out against this illicit union of church and state. Those who speak out against the sins of Popery, apostate Protestantism and American politics will be labeled as enemies of law and order and will be treated as terrorists—their literal and digital platforms for sharing Bible truths will be shut down, they could even face property seizures, imprisonment, torture and death.
“Those who honor the Bible Sabbath will be denounced as enemies of law and order, as breaking down the moral restraints of society, causing anarchy and corruption, and calling down the judgments of God upon the earth. Their conscientious scruples will be pronounced obstinacy, stubbornness, and contempt of authority. They will be accused of disaffection toward the government. Ministers who deny the obligation of the divine law will present from the pulpit the duty of yielding obedience to the civil authorities as ordained of God. In legislative halls and courts of justice, commandment keepers will be misrepresented and condemned. A false coloring will be given to their words; the worst construction will be put upon their motives.” (White, Ellen .The Great Controversy (1911), pages 581 and 592)
“God’s word has given warning of the impending danger; let this be unheeded, and the Protestant world will learn what the purposes of Rome really are, only when it is too late to escape the snare. She is silently growing into power. Her doctrines are exerting their influence in legislative halls, in the churches, and in the hearts of men. She is piling up her lofty and massive structures in the secret recesses of which her former persecutions will be repeated. Stealthily and unsuspectedly she is strengthening her forces to further her own ends when the time shall come for her to strike. All that she desires is vantage ground, and this is already being given her. We shall soon see and shall feel what the purpose of the Roman element is. Whoever shall believe and obey the word of God will thereby incur reproach and persecution.” “The Roman Church now presents a fair front to the world, covering with apologies her record of horrible cruelties. She has clothed herself in Christlike garments; but she is unchanged. Every principle of the papacy that existed in past ages exists today.
The doctrines devised in the darkest ages are still held. Let none deceive themselves. The papacy that Protestants are now so ready to honor is the same that ruled the world in the days of the Reformation, when men of God stood up, at the peril of their lives, to expose her iniquity. She possesses the same pride and arrogant assumption that lorded it over kings and princes, and claimed the prerogatives of God. Her spirit is no less cruel and despotic now than when she crushed out human liberty and slew the saints of the Most High.” (White, Ellen. The Great Controversy, (1911), page 571)
