At least 14 people were killed and around 140 injured when their church was struck by lighting in Southern Rwanda last Saturday.
According to investigations, the lightining hit through the open back door of the church affecting those who sat behind and killed all those people who had phones with them, Innocent Ndebeyaho, the Director Munini hospital where the injured were treated confirmed.
Rwanda was recently faced with closure of more than 700 Churches that the government deemed ‘unsafe and too noisy’ as reported by the BBC.
According to a proposed new law, all preachers must have theological training before opening a church.
No reports have indicated that the church was unsafe as it had not been closed at the time of the accident.
