- By G. Rallings
God, Who is light (1 John 1:8),
the father of lights (james 3:17),
is the Creator of light (Genesis 1:3).
Decked with garments of light (Psalms 104:2),
He dwells in light (1 Timothy 6:16),
unapproachable by man (1 Timothy 6:16).
He is a consuming fire (Deuteronomy 4:24),
devouring valueless dross (1 Corinthians 3:13),
but makes His servants flames of fire (Psalms 104:4).
He calls His children of light (1 Peter 2:9),
into the glory of His presence (Matthew 8:12).
With Him is the fountain of life (Psalms 36:9),
in His light we see light (Psalms 36:9),
walking as children of the Light (Ephesians 5:8).
Called to God’s city of light (Revelation 21:23),
we are clad in the armor of light (Romans 3:12; Isaac 42:16),
led by the Spirit of light (Luke 1:79; Exodus 13:21).
Eternal Spirit, grant us grace to walk in Thy light.
